Honda Recall – Engine Rod Bearing Failure
Rear wheel lockup increases the risk of a crash or injury. Engine oil the leaks onto hot exhaust components increases the risk of a fire.

Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain CB1000SP motorcycles. The pistons and piston rings may have been improperly manufactured, which can lead to rod bearing failure, possibly resulting in rear wheel lock up or oil leaking onto the rear tire.
Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. Once the repair is available, repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed February 16, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in August 2026. Owners may contact Honda’s customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda’s number for this recall is KT6. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 7, 2026.
