ED raids I-PAC ahead of Assembly polls in West Bengal: The West Bengal government has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court seeking that no order should be passed without hearing it in connection with Enforcement Directorate raids against political consultancy firm I-PAC. A caveat is filed by a litigant in the high courts and the Supreme Court to ensure that no adverse order is passed against it without it being heard.
March against ED action: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday took part in a rally against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at the I-PAC offices in Kolkata on Thursday. While Banerjee had Banerjee dropped in at the Loudon Street house of I-PAC director Pratik Jain in Kolkata on Thurday, she later headed to Sector V in Salt Lake, where ED officials were carrying out raids at I-PAC’s office.

ED moves high court: The Enforcement Directorate has approached the Calcutta High Court, seeking a CBI investigation into CM Mamata Banerjee, senior police officials, and others for allegedly obstructing its I-PAC raids in Kolkata. Meanwhile, The Trinamool Congress has filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court seeking restraint on the ‘misuse and dissemination’ of documents seized by the ED during I-PAC raids. Assam CM Himanta Biswa has alleged that Mamata Banerjee entered the ‘crime scene’, took away files and used foul language against the Union Home Minister.
