PM Modi Speech Today: Hours after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance cruised to a formidable victory in Assembly polls on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast it as a support for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. The SIR exercise had led to much controversy over fears of exclusion of a large number of people from the electoral rolls.
Underlining the high voting percentage seen in both phases of the election, Modi said that Bihar’s voters have given massive support to SIR, and that it is now the duty of all parties to “activate their workers to purify voter lists”.
Bihar gave new MY formula, says Modi
He said that the people had given a new MY formula of Mahila and Yuva (Women and Youth).
Elaborating on the ‘MY formula’, Modi said: “Some parties in Bihar had created the appeasement formula of MY. But today’s victory has given a new positive MY formula, and that is Mahila (women) and Youth. Today, Bihar is among those states of the country which have the highest number of youth, and this includes youth from every religion and every caste. Their desire, their aspiration and their dreams have completely destroyed the old communal MY formula of the Jungle Raj people…”
