JDU leader Anant Singh, who contested the election from jail, has won the Mokama seat by a margin of 28,600 votes. He was arrested on November 2 in connection with the murder of Dular Chand Yadav, a Jan Suraaj Party supporter killed during a political rally in Mokama on October 30. This victory marks Singh’s sixth consecutive win from the constituency.
Before joining the JDU, Singh had contested as an Independent candidate.
