The split between gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar has deepened, as Lawrence’s gang member Harry Boxer — who was allegedly operating the gang from abroad — was attacked along with two associates in California, USA, on Sunday, said officials.
Central agencies in India are closely monitoring the activities of both gangs as their rivalry could have implications within the country. Police in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi are also keeping a close watch on the developments.
According to an official from the security agencies, Boxer was attacked by a group of men in Fresno. Although he managed to escape, one of his associates was shot dead and another was injured.
Soon after the incident, a social media post purportedly uploaded by gangster Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for the attack. “This Harry Boxer is a follower of Lawrence Bishnoi. He fled, leaving his associate behind…,” it read.
The purported post also stated that Lawrence Bishnoi is nothing in front of Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara’s gang. It also stated that Lawrence was a traitor and that they would wipe out the gang.
The post further threatened that those who raised their voices against the Godara-Goldy gang would be eliminated.
Earlier, the Delhi Police believed that Boxer, a resident of Rajasthan currently hiding in the US, was a member of the Godara-Brar gang.

However, Boxer has consistently claimed that he is affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In a purported social media post after a shooting at Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s cafe in Canada this year, Boxer claimed that he was an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
Lawrence is currently lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail, while Brar and Godara are believed to be in the US.
Agencies suspect that this may be the first time that the rivalry between the Brar and Lawrence gangs has surfaced after the split earlier this year.
“Brar began working with Azerbaijan-based Rohit Godara, while Lawrence was associated with Canada-based Noni Rana. This feud and the emergence of their new syndicates have become a growing source of tension for state police forces,” an officer said.

Sources said the split occurred after Lawrence became upset with Brar and Godara over their handling of his brother Anmol’s case in the U.S. “Central intelligence agencies received information that Brar and Godara did not assist Anmol in filing the required bail bond. Although Anmol was later released, he was fitted with an ankle bracelet tracker,” sources said.
