AUS defeat IND by seven wickets in three-match ODI series
Australia has defeated India by seven wickets and is set to take 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series after chasing down the latter’s target of 131 in 21.1 overs in a rain-interrupted game in Perth’s Optus Stadium. Australia’s Mitchell Marsh stood unbeaten on 46 off 52 balls at the end. Earlier in the first innings, India got off to a horrendous start after Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and new One-Day International skipper Shubman Gill fell inside PowerPlay with none of them going past the individual score of 10 runs after Australia invited India to bat first in the first ODI on Sunday. Louvre Museum in Paris shut after Napoleon-era jewels robbed
In an unexpected turn of events, a collection of jewels which once belonged to Napolean and Empress Josephine was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris on Sunday morning. Thieves, reportedly armed with chainsaws, stormed the world’s most visited museum and a probe has been launched . Confirming the “exceptional” breach of security. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati wrote on X, “A robbery took place this morning at the opening of the Louvre Museum.” She added that she was at the scene as investigations got underway. The Louvre also announced on social media that it would remain closed “for exceptional reasons,” offering no further explanation. Read more

Delhi Police book 6 JNU students after scuffle with cops
A day after a rally to the Vasant Kunj North police station escalated into an altercation leaving several students and cops injured, six students including three office bearers of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU), were booked on Sunday. The case was filed under Sections 221, 121(2), 132, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Vasant Kunj North police station. The three JNUSU office bearers who were booked are Nitesh Kumar, 26, (President, JNUSU), Manisha, 28, (Vice President, JNUSU), and Munteha Fatima, 28, (General Secretary, JNUSU). Read more

A day after thousands took part in nationwide “No Kings” demonstrations against the US government, President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on his Truth Social account mocking them. The clip showed him flying “King Trump” fighter, wearing a crown amid massive protests across the country. n the video, he can be seen sitting in a cockpit, dropping brown sludge on the protesters participating in the nationwide “No Kings” demonstrations, as Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” played in the background.In another post, the official White House X account shared an image of Trump and Vance donning crowns above the picture of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Sen.
