Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President reaffirmed their “special relationship”, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said PM Modi attaches enormous importance to our partnership with the US.
“We remain engaged with the US,” said Dr S Jaishankar in an interview with ANI. These remarks come after US President Donald Trump said that India and the US have a special relationship and that “there is nothing to worry about.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday expressed appreciation and said that he “fully reciprocated” his sentiments and positive assessment of bilateral ties in his first direct statement to the US President since Trump announced the imposition of tariffs.
“Where President Trump is concerned, he (PM Modi) has always had a very good personal equation with President Trump,” said Jaishankar.
