Neeraj Chopra At Diamond League Final 2025 Javelin Throw Result Live Updates: Neeraj Chopra has started his Diamond League Final campaign with a 84.35m throw. He’s third after the first set of throws with Germany’s Julian Weber leading after throwing 91.37m in the first attempt to take the world lead for 2025.
It was in Zurich three years ago that Neeraj Chopra achieved one of the many firsts he has ticked off over the course of his career. Neeraj had become the first Indian to win a Diamond League final at the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich in 2022. Since then, he finished second at Eugene 2023 and Brussels 2024 and is now looking to take back the title in Zurich on Thursday.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem is not in the field but that is in no way a guarantee for Chopra to win the title in the Swiss city. He finished runner-up with only a centimetre separating him from the winner, Grenada’s Anderson Peters, at last year’s finale in Brussels. Peters, a two-time world champion, cannot be written off in the big events even though on current form Neeraj will watch out for the clear and present danger from a German, Julian Weber, who gave him a run for his money this season.
Germany’s Julian Weber is also another major contender. Weber’s season so far has been bookended by two impressive throws, the latest less than a week before the Diamond League Finale. At the Doha Diamond League in May, Weber raised his game even as Chopra did. Both men entered the 90-metre club for the first time, Weber in dramatic fashion with 91.06 metres in the final round after Chopra had produced his best-ever 90.23 in the third round.
