Norfolk State women’s basketball is the only DI HBCU to go undefeated this year in conference play, finishing 14-0 in the MEAC regular season for its first undefeated conference season in program history. Here’s a look at the numbers that have defined a historic run for the Spartans.

90

Norfolk State has scored 90 or more points on MEAC opponents in four games this year. Across the last eight seasons, no MEAC team has had more than one 90-point game in a single season.

61

Diamond Johnson has 61 steals in MEAC play, finishing atop the conference in total steals in back-to-back seasons. She leads the MEAC with 4.4 steals per game in conference play and her complete season average of 3.58 steals per game is the fifth most in the country.

59

Kierra Wheeler has 59 combined blocked shots and steals during conference play. Only North Carolina Central’s Jada Tiggett (61) and Wheeler’s teammate Diamond Johnson (64) have combined for more.

28.4

Norfolk State is outscoring MEAC opponents by 28.4 points per game. The only conference game within 10 points was a 77-69 road win over Morgan State where the Spartans led by 19 points after the first quarter.

28

Norfolk State has won 28 straight games over MEAC opponents dating back to last season, including the 2024 MEAC conference tournament.

Potential MEAC Player of the Year Diamond Johnson is averaging 21 points in conference play to lead the MEAC. She has 13 games with 20 or more points this year with eight coming against MEAC opponents. Johnson is the first MEAC player in six years to average more than 20 points per game in conference play.
